New airlines trust Flying Food Group 'for great service' amid U.S. market expansion

Throughout the spring and early summer months of 2023, airline catering company Flying Food Group secured multiple new contracts, expanding its airline catering services across the United States. The company, founded by Sue Gin and headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, has an operational presence in kitchens across the country.

Nicolas Rondeau, the Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Flying Food Group (FFG), expressed his appreciation for the new contracts and the trust placed in the company by its customers. He stated, "It is great to see new airlines coming into the US market, expanding their network with new US routes and trusting Flying Food Group for great service."

Flying Food Group began its catering services for Starlux flights between Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Taiwan Taoyuan International (TPE) on April 26, marking their first international long-haul route for Starlux. The company also initiated catering services for ITA Airways at Dulles International Airport in Washington DC on June 2, building upon an enduring relationship with the airline. These new contracts added to the company's existing catering agreements at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in New York, Miami International Airport (MIA), and LAX.

The collaboration between Flying Food Group and ITA Airways further expanded on July 1 with catering services at San Francisco International Airport (SFO). Additionally, FFG began catering for Zipair at SFO on June 2. Their catering services extend to other locations, including Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL) in Hawaii and LAX.

In June, Flying Food Group also initiated catering for Turkish Airlines at Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) and O'Hare International Airport (ORD) in Chicago. These new contracts complemented their existing agreements at JFK, MIA, and LAX, which have been in place for several years.

Sue Gin established Flying Food in 1983, beginning with a single airline catering kitchen and one domestic airline customer at Chicago's Midway International Airport. Over the next three decades, Sue's leadership helped the company become a prominent figure in the U.S. large-scale catering industry, the company's website says. Her dedication to delivering award-winning cuisine and exceptional customer service exemplified her entrepreneurial drive. Although Sue passed away in 2014, her legacy remains a source of inspiration for the company.
