Casper Area Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Sept. 17.

“Foodpreneur” Training Tour in Wyoming Entrepreneurs and start-ups involved in food-related businesses will soon have an opportunity to learn everything they need to know to be successful. The Wyoming Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network will be hosting a series of events as nationally-recognized “foodpreneur” expert Marty Butts tours Wyoming. Butts is owner of Small Potatoes—a boutique marketing, advocacy and consulting firm specializing in working with small-scale and start-up food product companies. The Wyoming SBDC Network provides no-cost advice and technical assistance to entrepreneurs in every industry throughout the state. This tour will cover the basics of starting a food-related business, how to define your market and how to sell small-scale food products. These workshops are geared towards anyone looking to launch a new food enterprise, farmers looking to expand their market and food-producers selling direct to consumers, wholesale, or through other marketplaces. “Martin’s workshops are packed with information, full of practical examples and sprinkled with humor to make his points come to life,” says Susan Jerke, regional director of the Wyoming SBDC Network. “I’ve left every one of his workshops full of enthusiasm to share his ideas with our clients.” Wyoming entrepreneurs will now have a chance to learn from Butts first-hand as he makes five stops throughout the state this month: • Cody - Sept 26 • Lander – Sept 26 • Laramie – Sept 27 • Casper – Sept 28 • Gillette – Sept 28 The event is only $15, but registration is required. You can learn more and reserve your spot right now in the events sections of the Wyoming SBDC Network’s website at WyomingSBDC.org. The workshops are presented with the generous support of Gillette Saturday Farmer’s Market, Energy Capital Enterprise Center, Northwest College CTE, Laramie Main Street Alliance, Wyoming Technology Business Center, Central Wyoming College and Gillette College. The workshop in Casper will also serve to kick off the Wyoming Farmer’s Market Conference taking place Sept 28 & 29, which you can also register for on the Wyoming SBDC Network’s website. ### About the Wyoming SBDC Network: The Wyoming Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network is funded in part through a Cooperative Agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration, state funds from the Wyoming Business Council, and host responsibilities and additional support provided by the University of Wyoming.
